BOTOX® Injections for Men

Although some men feel—and may be told—that the presence of facial lines and creases gives them a “rugged” and/or “seasoned” appearance, not all are happy to embrace the arrival of these common signs of aging. Fortunately for those who aren’t quite ready to sport the “aged veteran” look, the popular injectable known as BOTOX® Cosmetic can often provide an excellent solution for discreetly minimizing wrinkles, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, and various other fine lines on the face that may be drawing unwanted attention.

At the Ohio State University Department of Plastic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeons are well-trained in tailoring BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments to meet the unique needs and goals of male patients. Often referred to as “Brotox,” BOTOX® injections for men can be performed right here in our office, usually in as little as 30 minutes or less. Once administered, the innovative solution works to temporarily paralyze targeted muscles in the treatment area, preventing them from over-contracting to form wrinkles and creases on the surface of the skin. But don’t worry—our doctors are skilled in injecting just the right amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic necessary to smooth lines and wrinkles without impeding one’s ability to express a complete range of emotion.

The results of BOTOX® injections usually last anywhere from three to six months, and touch-up treatments can be received once the effects begin to fade in order to maintain the desired look. Best of all, there is minimal to no downtime associated with the procedure, enabling patients to get in and out of our office with little disruption to their everyday lives.
